How do I find an attorney in Austin? As a country our new normal has come with many changes; working from home, staying inside, etc. It’s important to recognize when the stress starts getting to you. Here are a few ways to help manage the stress. Thankfully, there are all sorts of things that we can do to help successfully eliminate stress and feel we have more control over our daily lives.

If any area of your home is disorganized, take the time to organize it. A disorganized home makes for a disorganized mind. It takes longer to find things, nothing has a place and it’s easy to slip from a cluttered home to a dirty home. Since we are spending more time in our homes it’s important to keep them clean and tidy.

While some people seem to think everyone has all this free time thanks to social distancing and isolation this is not the case. People still have a lot going on. That’s why it’s important to prioritize where your time goes. Focus on things that NEED to be done. Once those are out of the way you can take up new hobbies.

Making time for yourself is important right now. It can feel like filling up your time is a good distraction but this will catch up with you. So delegate tasks to your kids, roommates, significant others, assistants, etc. Make a note of the tasks that need to be completed that you are also able to either delegate or share. Once you do this, don’t hesitate to ask others for assistance in completing them.

Say No

Say no to that fifth Zoom meeting of the day. Say no to Facetiming your parents every day. Say no to making bread from scratch each weekend. The pressure is on to try all sorts of societal norms now but that doesn’t mean to have to do them. People seem to feel more obligated to letting people in to their home virtually now and you have absolutely no obligation to allow it.

Set Short-term Goals

Right now it’s difficult to set long term goals because we don’t know what’s going to happen long term. So switch to setting short term goals. Setting easily achieved daily goals keeps momentum going and makes you feel accomplished. It could be something as simple as going through some documents that are cluttering your desk. Just focus on here and now.

Laugh When You Can

Watch funny movies, Facetime your friend that’s always positive or read a funny book. It’s important to remember that this is all temporary. So make the best of it and keep a good mindset. It’s better for everyone to be isolated and in a good mood than isolated and in a bad one.
